RESIDENT CHALLENGES LM REFERENDUM & ALLOCATION
Dear Joe,
I have written, in my name, to the IL Dept. of Natural Resources and the IEPA, with a copy to David Orr, Cook County Clerk, advising them in detail of the history of the referendum and the practices used by the mayor and the 'Citizens for Public Awareness', as well as the absence the referendum on the ballot at some precincts. The letters were sent with supporting documentation of their flyers, text of the robo calls, comparison of water bills (on the residents flyer). Due to the small margin of approval, votes gained through lies about the cost and our well-water, and the cheaper option of air-stripping, I have asked the Department of Natural Resources and the IEPA to re-consider and deny Sauk Village hook up to Lake Michigan water at this time. The letters were received at their offices this morning. David Orr should receive his copy tomorrow.
If you do not mind, through your Facebook page, could you advise those residents, who are as upset by these practices as I am, to follow up with e-mails, phone calls or letters. It is important that this is accomplished this coming week to follow up my letter. Residents should use their own words to voice how they feel about the election, our well water, and how the higher cost will affect them. You can mention that a lengthy letter of explanation was sent to these individuals.
Please let me know if you have questions (708-757-xxxx). I wish to remain anonymous.
If you like, you could use this paragraph or something similar:
'A concerned Sauk Village resident has written a lengthy letter with supporting documents to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, the Illinois environmental Protection Agency, with a copy to David Orr, Cook County Clerk. The letter gives a history of the referendum detailing the lies and deception used by the mayor's supporters, and the referendum not being on ballots in a couple of precincts. The letter is also asking that Lake Michigan water not be approved at this time, since air stripping our wells is a less costly option. If you are willing to support this action, please send an e-mail to each department in your own words to voice how you feel about the election, our well water, and how the higher cost will affect you. To be most effective, e-mails should be sent this week.'
